Burns with different products

Product List:
  • Gelatine (granules/bottled gelatine or blocked gelatine)
  • cream paints (supra colour)
  • fake blood
  • fake pus
  • setting sprays
  • powder

In this lesson sue showed us how to create burns with gelatine. We first had a demo from Sue, she showed us different types of gelatine. We were shown, cooking gelatine, block gelatine and bottle gelatine.

These were the burns sue created using block gelatine.

She began by heating up the product in the microwave making sure not to burn it. (no more than 8 seconds)
Then before the gelatine sets again she applied it with the spatula making sure it wasn't hot enough to burn the models skin. Then as it went tacky, Sue then using the spatula again started tapping it over the gelatine to break it up and give it a texture. She then coloured it with blood tones and fake blood.

We then had to create this ourselves, I did the same method as Sue when creating my own burn. I used granules of gelatine for mine.

I am very impressed with how mine turned out. I love the effect the gelatine gives for burns. I made some little pusy infected boils to create an infected burnt look.
